Mission
Community Agriculture Center seeks to enable local consumers to buy their food from local farmers.  Farm raised food is real food and healthier for consumers of all ages.  Community Ag supports these transactions in a number of ways.

Marketing
Community Ag publishes a Farm to Table Buying Guide that lists local farmers that sell their products directly to consumers.  You will find vegetables, fruits, poultry and livestock products, flour, and honey as well as some processed products.  The Buying Guide also lists area famers markets and local businesses that feature local food products. Those listed in the Buying Guide are also found on the Community Ag website.

Education
Community Ag has undertaken a number of grant funded projects that have generated published educational material.  These publications are available in PDF format on our website.

Processing
Community Ag received a grant from Washington Department of Agriculture to design and build a poultry processing unit.  This unit is now enables  local poultry and rabbit growers to sell their products to local consumers and restaurants.

We received a grant from USDA-Rural Development to build a livestock slaughter unit.  This unit enables local livestock producers to sell their products to the public and to restaurants.  You will find beef, pork and lamb at many farmers markets that has been processed in this unit.

Special Events
Community Ag conducts two events each year that bring the bounty of our local farmers and ranchers to the public.  We have a food booth at the Northeast Washington Fair that features all local products.  The second Sunday in September we have a Harvest Dinner Celebration at Lovitt Restaurant that features our local foods.

Food Hub
Community Ag is working to create a regional food hub where local citizens and visitors from outside our region can discover and enjoy the wide variety of products and food venues that are found in this area.  During a one-day or weekend visit one can find farms and ranches, farm stores, restaurants, stores and wine that feature our locally grown foods.
